William Fisher Woodworth, Jr.

December 29, 1953 — November 7, 2022

William Fisher Woodworth Jr., 68, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at home in Ocean Grove NJ. He was predeceased by his parents William and Florence, his brother David, his in-laws Kenneth and Rosemary Gluckow, and his dear friend Lucious Zachary.

Known to many as Woody and others as Bill/Billy, he was born on December 29, 1953 in Neptune City, NJ and was very proud of his hometown and of being a Boy Scout and a member of Memorial Methodist Church. He graduated from Neptune High School and East Stroudsburg State College and went on to work his entire career to improve the lives of children, first in the Monmouth County Probation Department and later for the New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) in the Child Support Program, where he truly loved his work. He was recognized as the AOC Supervisor of the Year and was greatly appreciated by his fellow hearing officers and the judges he trained for his expertise in child support law.

He is survived by his wife Suellen (Gluckow) and daughters Katie and Meg; his brother Stephen (Chris) Woodworth of Chapin, SC and sister Liz (Grant) Hollingsworth of British Columbia, Canada, as well as his in-laws Katherine (Steven) Bassett of Somers Point, NJ; Steven Garcia of Ocean Grove, NJ; Paul (Kristi) Gluckow of Ridgewood, NJ; John (Hwa Young) Gluckow of Weehawken, NJ and his nephews and nieces Jim, Joe, Jason, Josh, Jess, Zach, Ben, Matt, Grace, Thomas and Oskar. His loving family, wonderful friends and respected co-workers brought him so much happiness throughout his life and so much strength and comfort during his illness.

Woody's honesty and integrity, calm demeanor, politeness, quiet but caring manner, and subtle sense of humor are among the many things that will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. He loved the words of Abraham Lincoln, "Whatever you are, be a good one." He will certainly be remembered as a very good son, brother, uncle, husband, father, friend, co-worker, guitar/banjo/mandolin player, home brewer, joke-teller, and humble servant of God, having worshipped in his adult years at St. James Episcopal Church, Bradley Beach.

His family invites you to honor Woody's life by choosing one of the many activities that he enjoyed, which can be viewed by visiting this link ( bit.ly/Woodworth ) until the time when we can celebrate his life together at a memorial service to be held later. To be contacted about the memorial service, please leave a message on the tribute wall, where condolences and memories can also be shared and will be appreciated so much by Woody's loved ones.
