William Henry Kuhles, 61, of Aberdeen, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, passed away suddenly on March 30, 2026.
Bill was a man of many hobbies. He enjoyed music of all kinds. He loved to play his guitars, piano, harmonica, ukulele and he recently started learning the mandolin. He loved to sing and seemed to have a song lyric to sing about every occasion. He would sing along with his daughter Grace as well. He also liked to listen to music and could always be heard playing something from his phone.
He was an avid fan of exploring and nature. He knew of all the best local parks and interesting places to visit. If he didn’t know about it though, he would make it a point to find and explore it. He and his family would spend their weekends exploring different parks and trails. He would tell everyone about the different types of plants and birds that he could identify. One of his favorite things was to go to the Branch Brook Park Cherry Blossom Festival, and he went every year with his family. Some other favorite places of his were Grounds for Sculpture, Deep Cut Gardens, Storm King Art Center and Cheesequake State Park.
He really enjoyed cooking. Some people like to cook with recipes but Bill liked to experiment in the kitchen. Taco Bell should have hired him because he came up with breakfast quesadillas and Mexican pizzas long before they did. He was especially good with breakfast. His kids loved his special pancakes and tortilla omelettes.
He was a funny and goofy guy. He always loved to make jokes and get his family laughing. He was known to throw on random hats to try to get a reaction out of his kids and wife. When looking back at pictures of him it’s clear that he tried to leave a stamp of humor on every memory. So many pictures have him sporting a goofy smile or giving someone bunny ears.
More than anything else though he loved his Family. Coming from a large family, his parents instilled the importance of being close and
connected. He carried that on when he got married and had his own kids. He was always very involved in all his children’s lives and would make a point to attend any important events. A turning point for him was when his youngest two daughters were diagnosed with autism in the early 2000s. They especially needed a lot of support and he really stepped up to the plate to be there for them in any way they needed. He was involved every step of the way from when they started school all the way to finding the best places for them to go in adulthood. He never left his other children out though, and was always there for them as well.
Bill met his wife, Linda, when they were both very young. They started dating in February of 1985 and were married in November of 1988. They
were each other's best friend and thought of each other as soulmates. Bill once wrote a paper for college describing Linda as the person who impacted his life the most. She encouraged and convinced him to go to college and helped support him throughout the ten years it took to get his degree. Over the years they had 5 beautiful children together. They were an incredible team and spent the majority of their free moments together.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda (Purdy) Kuhles; his children, Alyson, Dillan, Jason, Olivia and Grace, all of Aberdeen. He is also survived by his siblings, Joan Sabino and her husband Alfred of Montgomery, TX; Virginia Otto and her husband Arthur of The Woodlands, TX; John Kuhles and his wife Natalie of Tinton Falls, NJ; Mary Sabino of Dover, DE; James Kuhles and his wife Celina of Clifton, NJ; and Elizabeth Kuhles Heiney and her husband Robert of Dover, DE as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.
Bill was an amazing person who was loved by so many people. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. A celebration of life will take place at a future date.
