Wayne Robert Tucker

Wayne Robert Tucker (aka Tucker, Tucker with a T), of Howell, NJ, left this world he loved so much on September 12, 2026 after completing his remarkable journey with cancer. He lived 71 extraordinary years, leaving behind his legendary stories for family and friends to share.

Born October 6, 1954 to Frederick and Ruth Tucker in Red Bank, NJ. Wayne was a graduate of Raritan High School in Hazlet and studied horticulture at Brookdale Community College. He was a proud, grateful autoworker at GM. The stories he came home with could be epic, were usually hilarious, but sometimes unbelievable. They were also real.

Fishing was the passion he passed along, as his legacy lives on in Oswego and Pultneyville, NY. It was in his nature to be curious about every natural thing on earth, a voracious reader who loved learning, and totally cosmic. This man packed so much into his life, gave us tons of good memories, stories, and a forest of love to find inspiration.

He lived with angels and animals–always in awe of things–the magic of life. His energy was magnetic–drawing others to him by his goodness, his kindness, his hard work and his acceptance and encouragement of others. Wayne’s unique perceptions, questions, humor, tenderness, and wonder are sources of strength to carry with us when we are missing him. No one can take his place.

Wayne was a devoted husband and friend to Mary Ann (nee Cooley) Tucker; loving father to Wayne (Teresa), John (Shannon) and Lauren (Sean Foran); cherished grandfather to Chase, Gage, and Axel; a caring brother to Gary and Bruce (Janet), brother-in-law John Cooley and sister-in-law Maureen; loving uncle to Joe, Jacii, Jamie, and Matthew, Christine, Jenny, Michele, John, Alli, and Dani. He is predeceased by his parents Fred and Ruth; brother Fred (aka Bubby); and sister-in-law Jacii.

The “Party” he requested is being held on Saturday, September 26 at Howell Twp. First Aid and Rescue Squad, 16 Kent Road Howell, NJ 07731 from 2:00-6:00 pm.
