Walter Henry Zwirz, 67 years old of Belmar, NJ passed away Wednesday May 24, 2017. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Belmar in 1970. Walter received a B.S. in Engineering from NJIT in 1985. After that, he worked as an engineer in the corporate world for years until he landed as an inspector with the Economic Development Authority and retired with the state.
Growing up, Walter was a Boy Scout Leader and was involved in the 4th Avenue Methodist Church in Brooklyn.
He is survived by his three children Douglas Zwirz of Belmar; David Zwirz and his wife Chelsea of Toms River; and Lauren Zwirz of Spring Lake. He also leaves his sister Barbara Malman of Englishtown, NJ and her husband Howard.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday June 3, 2017 from 2-5 pm at the Johnson- McGinley Funeral Home 2652 Hwy 138, Wall, NJ 7719. A memorial service will at 4:30 at the funeral home.
