Thomas Macone, 69, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on May 23, 1957, Thomas lived a life filled with memorable moments, lifelong friendships, and an unwavering love for his family. While his journey was not without its challenges, those who knew him understood that he loved deeply and expressed that love in his own unique ways.
Thomas was the beloved husband of Dawn Renna and a proud father to Matthew Macone, Thomas Macone, Jacqueline Macone, Anthony Bergen, and Julia Macone. Nothing brought him greater pride than watching his children grow and build lives of their own.
He was also a devoted grandfather to Charlie Macone, Matthew Macone, Parker Macone, Tanner Macone, Olivia Macone, Caleb Bergen, and Luna Bergen. His grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and the time he spent with them created memories that will be cherished forever.
Thomas enjoyed all kinds of sports and could always appreciate good competition, good conversation, and good company. He was never one to turn down a glass of tequila shared with family or friends, and some of his happiest moments were those spent laughing, telling stories, and simply enjoying the people around him.
Like all of us, Thomas faced struggles throughout his life, but they never defined the love he had for his family. He showed that love in many different ways, and those closest to him knew that beneath everything was a father whose children meant the world to him.
He will be remembered not only for the moments he shared but also for the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love that continues through his family. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the stories told around family gatherings, in the laughter of his grandchildren, and in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Thomas will be deeply missed and forever loved.
"To live in the hearts of those we love is never to die."
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the oncology team at MSK for the exceptional care Thomas received.
