Thelma Jacobi Owens

Thelma Owens, 100, passed away Friday, January 12 at Care One at Wall. Thelma was born in Newark and grew up in Maplewood, graduating from Columbia High School. She met her husband Art during WWII and they spent many happy years together in Kearny, NJ. Thelma worked at Sterns Dept. Store after her husbands passing, retiring in her 70s. Thelma was predeceased by her husband Arthur, son William, siblings Karl, Edmond, Doris, and most recently by her sister-in-law Angela Jacobi, also 100 years old. She is survived by her niece Barbara Weeks of Spring Lake Heights and other nieces and nephews and their families around the country. Burial will be private. Services are under the direction of Jersey Shore Cremation Service.
