Steven Lloyd

Steven Lloyd, 74, of Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at Crest Pointe Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Point Pleasant Beach.

Born in Philadelphia, Steven was the eldest son of the late Edward and Mary (McElroy) Lloyd. Following his graduation from high school, he traveled throughout the United States, learning the care and training of horses while working in the horse racing industry. He eventually made his home in Monmouth County, New Jersey, where he devoted his career to veterinary care, working with animals of all kinds.

Steven was most recently employed at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, where he worked with dedication and compassion until his retirement at the age of 70. His lifelong love of animals and commitment to their well-being earned him the respect and friendship of many colleagues and clients.

He is survived by his two sons, Steven and Edward; his siblings, Michael, Tommy, Wally, and Millie; his brothers-in-law, Jim Hondros and Robert Schmidt; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Steven was predeceased by his sisters, Maryanne Hondros and Margaret Schmidt, and his brother, Edward Lloyd.

Steven will be laid to rest beside his parents in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He will be remembered for his love of animals, his quiet dedication to his work, and the memories he leaves with his family and friends.
