Little Egg Harbor - Beloved son, brother, and uncle Stephen E. Naysmith, formerly of Bergenfield and Brick, age 53, passed away peacefully in the early morning on May 23rd at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, after succumbing to a battle with cancer which he valiantly fought over the last several years.
He was an avid fan of New York area sports teams, especially, The NY Mets. A 1982 graduate of Bergenfield High School he held several advanced certificates in the trades. He was employed by the USPS, Rx Place, Sheridan Heating and Cooling, Masco Corp and Viking Yachts among others prior to illness. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Little Egg Harbor.
Predeceased by his father, Howard in 2007 he is survived by his mother Jean of Whiting, two brothers; Andrew of Freehold and Howard of Little Egg Harbor, two sisters-in-law; Kathleen of Freehold and Brenda of St Cloud, Florida. Four nieces; Michelle Hagemeier of St Petersburg, FL, Nicole of Aledo, TX, Lauren of Aberdeen and Alyssa of Edison. Two nephews; Brian of Bayville and Andrew of Hoboken along with their spouses and fiancs. Two grandnieces: Reese and Brina, Three grand nephews; Dominic, Kane and Harrison along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
At his request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of life will be held with immediate family at a later date in his honor.
The family would like to thank the many relatives and friends for their outpouring of love and support for a wonderful man, loved by all he met that has been taken from us far too soon.
