Stephen A. McCormack, 50, of Brick, NJ, died on Saturday, August 14, 2021. He was born in Point Pleasant, NJ, grew up in Howell and was a graduate of Howell High School. He resided in GA, Pt. Pleasant and Brick. He worked briefly as a cook but he was a carpenter by trade and worked in the construction industry for most of his life.
Steve lived life on his own terms. He was known for his deep love of his family and friends with whom he was compassionate and generous. He had a special bond with his many siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. As a carpenter, he was always willing to lend a hand to family and friends and was involved in many home improvement projects over the years.
Steve was also known for his distinctive, deep voice that was always quick to laughter or to regale with a story or joke. He took great pride in his Irish heritage and was a huge sports fan and loved the Yankees, Giants and Knicks.
He loved many types of music from Motown to the Beatles and was a Grateful Dead fan from birth. Steve was a natural, gifted gardener who could make anything grow, even in the smallest patch of gravel. His tomatoes and watermelons were a great source of pride to him.
Steve was loved dearly and will be so greatly missed.
Steve was predeceased by his father, Joseph McCormack in 1988, his brothers, Joseph McCormack in 1999, Robert McCormack in 2013, and James McCormack in 2020. He is survived by his mother, Eileen McCormack, of Northport FL, 4 brothers, John of Brick, Michael of Media, PA, Kenneth of Media, PA and Dermot of NY, NY, 7 sisters, Patricia (John) of Duluth, GA, Eileen (Jeff) Fuller of Howell, Diane (Matt) Hall of Brick, Maureen (Rich) Pircher of Lacey, Denise (Bob) O’Beirne of Howell, Sheila (Paul) McCormack- Cooney of Dublin, Ireland and Colleen (Mike) of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by nephews Kevin (Danielle), Joseph, Keith, Bobby and Finn, and nieces, Amanda (Ryan), Krista (Matt), Erin (Ajay), Tara,
Katy, Meredith, Kathleen, Bridget, Sophia and Teagan, great nephews Ryan and Joseph, great nieces Ava, Kennedy and Saoirse and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10:00 AM at The Church of St. Veronica, Howell, NJ. A private burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lakewood NJ.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held for both Steve and Jimmy on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Howell Elks, Ramtown–Greenville Rd, Howell, NJ.
