Stephen (Steve) J. Holzinger passed into Eternal Life on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. He was born on November 18, 1925 in New York City. Steve grew up in Rocky Hill, NJ and lived in Edison for many years before retiring to Little Egg Harbor 25 years ago.
He attended St. Paul the Apostle School in Highland Park. He worked at Permacel Tape in North Brunswick for 35 years retiring in 1985. Steve served aboard ship in the US Navy for 4 years during World War II and two years during the Korean War. In 1945 he was awarded a bronze star acknowledging meritorious service in a combat zone. He was honorably discharged in October 1952 serving a total of 12 years. Steve donated his time for many years to the Jacques Cousteau Society and the Tuckerton Seaport. He had a passion and love for wildlife and the conservation of the environment. He also served for many years as the president of the Tall Timbers Home Owners Association.
Steve was also predeceased by his parents Peter and Catherine Buesany.
Steve is survived by his loving wife Margaret Tripod. They were married in 1949 at St. Paul the Apostle in Highland Park. Also surviving is his Sister Elizabeth Marsh Magee of Little Egg Harbor; his daughter Sharon Pipero and her husband Paul of Monroe NJ; his daughter Cindy Murphy and her husband Don of Fernandina Beach FL; his son Stephen II and his wife Patricia of Monroe NJ; his son Paul and his wife Yvonne of Little Egg harbor; his grandchildren Michael Pipero, Lonnie Pipero, Scott Pipero, Stephen Holzinger III, Sara Holzinger, Thomas Holzinger, Michelle Holzinger, Amanda Holzinger and Jesse Holzinger; great grandchildren Lucas Holzinger, Jake Pipero, Avery Pipero, Olivia Pipero, Ryan Pipero, Chelsea Holzinger, Thomas Holzinger and Abigail Holzinger.
