Shirley M. Kesselman 96, of Tinton Falls, passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2022. Shirley was born in Newark in 1926 to Harold and Hazel Snyder. She was a secretary at the Newark College of Engineering where she met her late husband, Warren A. Kesselman. Married for 67 years, they lived in Eatontown before moving to Tinton Falls in 1964.Shirley was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Eatontown where she taught Sunday School before moving to Tinton Falls and joining the First Presbyterian Church of Red Bank, teaching there as well.
Shirley was an avid reader and volunteered at the Tinton Falls Library for many years. Among her other passions were bird watching, drawing/painting, crafting and quilting. The center of her family, she was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Shirley and her husband hand built a cabin on Long Lake in the Adirondacks, New York, where the family will continue to enjoy many cherished summer vacations remembering them both.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Williams (Jerry), son Richard Kesselman (Mikaela), daughter Nancy Spadavecchia(Ron); seven grandchildren: Ian Sickels (Aleesa), Lisa Cornelius (Jake), Alison Mancuso (George), Kate McKiernan (Tim), Rory Kesselman, Ross Spadavecchia, Holly Spadavecchia; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at The First Presbyterian Church Red Bank at a future date.
