Sara C. Young

Saraphine Carmel Young passed away on November 5, 2015 at the age of 89 with her loving family at her bedside. Sara was born in Neptune NJ on July 24, 1926 and is the daughter of Carney and Angela DeSarno. Sara was nicknamed "Nina" by her Mother and was known by many of her friends by that name. Sara had a love for life and led an active life which included bowling and golf that she was able to play well into her 80's. Sara was a longtime resident of Neptune, but did move down to Venice FL for 6 years right after her retirement from PNC bank where she worked as an executive secretary. She relocated back to Neptune after the death of her husband in 1998.Sara had a gift of being a very caring, giving person who loved to provide and support her family and friends. She was the "rock" of the family who would always be there for everyone throughout the bumps in the road of life. She took our hand for a while, but is in our hearts forever She is predeceased by her beloved husband Donald and oldest daughter Patricia. Sara is survived by her son Donald and daughter Cathy. She has 4 grandchildren (John, Joel, Lauren, and Angela) and 2 great-grandchildren (Rebecca and Aidan). It was Sara's wish not to have a viewing or funeral. Friends and family may have a mass said for her or contribute to your favorite charity in her memory.
