Dec 25, 1941 — Aug 1, 2026

Lakewood, NJ

Samuel Cavallo, 84, of Lakewood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Born on December 25, 1941, in Totowa, New Jersey, Sam was the son of the late Joseph and Margherita Cavallo (née Gaita). He spent the majority of his life in Little Falls, New Jersey, alongside the love of his life and devoted wife, Barbara, where he worked for many years as a laborer with the New Jersey Building Laborers.

Sam was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara E. Cavallo (née Sturm); his brothers, Alfonso, Joseph, and Salvatore Cavallo; and his sisters, Elizabeth Czhalo (née Cavallo), Concetta Cavallo, and Joan Rocco (née Cavallo).

Sam's greatest joy was his family. He shared a remarkable love story with Barbara, and even after her passing, his love for her never faded. He was a proud and devoted father to his three daughters and an adoring grandfather whose face lit up whenever he spoke about his grandchildren. There wasn't a person he met who didn't hear about the accomplishments, adventures, and milestones of the family he cherished so deeply. His love, pride, and unwavering devotion to them were evident in every conversation and every moment they shared together.

He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Lisa Barrett and her husband, Randy; Lori Costic and her husband, Donald; Lynda Buckley and his former son-in-law, Sean Buckley. He was the proud and loving grandfather of six grandchildren: Brianna, Kayla, and Stephen Costic, and Aidan, Olivia, and Eliana Buckley. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Sharon Bollmann (née Sturm), as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Sam will be remembered for his quiet strength and love he gave to those fortunate enough to know him. While his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of his family forever.
