Ron Biesiada, 66, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015, at home after a difficult battle with cancer that he endured with optimism and bravery.
Ron was born in Jersey City to Adam and Louise (nee Sokolowski) Biesiada on July 7, 1949. He grew up in Carteret, N.J., and resided in Manasquan for the last 20 years. He retired from Hess Oil in 2009.
Ron was an avid and talented sports enthusiast and played semi-pro football. He participated in track and field events, and later played golf as much as possible. He loved scuba diving and pursued commercial diving for a time. In recent years, he could be seen walking around his neighborhood, on area beaches and on Gull Island with his German Shepherds, Jake and Ella. He was a parishioner of St. Denis in Manasquan.
Ron was pre-deceased by his parents and his beloved dogs, Zack and Roxy.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, and daughter, Jamie. His pride and joy in his daughter and her accomplishments knew no bounds. Ron is also survived by his brother-in-law, Paul Macioch, of St. Augustine, Fl, whom he considered a brother, and Paul’s wife, Kathy, whom he regarded as a sister. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless other beloved family members and friends.
Jersey Shore Cremation Services handled the arrangements. It was Ron’s wish not to have a viewing or funeral. Instead, a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, do some good in Ron’s name – whether it be making a donation to the ASPCA, the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice in his name, or volunteering your time to help a nonprofit like InfoAge Science & History Learning Center in Wall, where Ron himself volunteered. Whatever you choose to do, think of Ron and the goodness and kindness he inspired in all.
