Robert W. Wilkes

Wilkes, Robert W. "Bobalou"- 68 of Normandy Beach, NJ passed away on Wednesday July 18th, 2018. Bobalou served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Key West, FL. He owned and ran multiple small businesses throughout his life. Bobalou owned the Delray News Stand in the 70s and the Normandy Beach Caf in the 80s. He later in life worked for Tyco toys and Armstrong flooring. Bobalou loved spending time on the beach, partying with the Kupper Drive Crew (KDC), and playing the bongos in the band Sick Lame and Lazy. He is predeceased by his parents Stanley and Shirley Wilkes and sister-in-law Judy. He is survived by his wife Kristine, son Rob (Alexis), brother Richie, sister-in-law Linnie (Doug) and multiple other friends who have become family. He was universally loved by so many. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday July 22nd. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and remember Bob from 5pm-7pm at the Normandy Bay Beach House (NBIA) 541 Broad Ave Normandy Beach, NJ 08739 (Corner of 7th and Broad Ave).
