Robert Sherman Therien

Robert Sherman Therien (Bob) beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 96. Born in Newark on October 26, 1928, Bob was a lifelong resident of New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Linda Whatton, son-in-law Fred Whatton, grandson Freddie Whatton Jr. and son Robert Therien Jr.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 76 years, Irma May Therien, his daughter Judy, and his son-in-law Jeffrey Thomas of North Carolina, his son Gary and daughter-in-law, Doreen Therien of New Jersey, and his son David and daughter-in-law Mary Therien of Pennsylvania.

Bob was a loving grandfather, known as Poppy by his 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He will be forever in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
