Robert T. Skinner, 89, of Wall, formerly of Jersey City, passed away on Sept. 30 at Jersey Shore Hospital. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, having served aboard the USS Charles Lawrence. After the war, he worked for the American Can Company for 40 years. He then retired to Spring Lake where he owned and operated the Beachcomber Guest House for 25 years.
He is predeceased by his brother James Skinner and his brother Richard Skinner. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Florence Skinner, and his brother Louis Skinner and wife Mary of Spring Lake Hts. He is also survived by his son Robert and wife Laura of Bradenton, Fla., and his son Ken and wife Lisa of Wall, NJ., along with his 3 grandchildren, Brittany Skinner of Philadelphia, and Hayley and Shawn Skinner of Wall, NJ.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, his request was that a donation be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. (www.stjude.org)
