With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Sammis, who passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born in Queens, New York, Bob built a life centered on hard work, family, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. A graduate of Stockton University, he enjoyed a successful career in the mortgage banking industry. Throughout his career, he was Past President of the NJ Mortgage Bankers Association and most recently served in a leadership role at HomeBridge Financial Services. Bob was respected by colleagues and clients alike for his integrity, work ethic, and commitment to helping others.
Above all else, Bob was a devoted husband, father, and beloved Pop-Pop. His greatest happiness came from spending time with his family, whether celebrating milestones, watching hockey, or simply gathering in the backyard surrounded by those he loved. His laughter, wisdom, and steady presence made every moment together special.
Bob believed that family was life's greatest blessing. He taught those around him the importance of compassion, resilience, generosity, and unconditional love. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created and the values he instilled in the people who knew him best. Bob is lovingly survived by his wife, Suzanne Sammis; his children, Courtney and Dan Rac, Daniel and Ally Seufert, Anna Marie Seufert, and Megan Sammis; his cherished grandchildren, LJ, Lilliana, Ava May, Jameson, Luka, Cameron, Jackson, Jeffery, Jordan, and KJ; his mother in law Anna May Schellenberger and many sister and brother in laws.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Sean Sammis; his parents, Martin and Jule Sammis; and his father-in-law, Rudy Schellenberger.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. at Metedeconk River Yacht Club in Brick, New Jersey. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Bob's remarkable life, share memories, and celebrate the love and joy he brought to so many.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Bob's legacy will live on through his family, his friendships, and the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
