Robert Edward Petrie Jr. Dearest brother and uncle, skilled electrician at the Shore, 59 Robert Edward Petrie Jr., 59, of Point Pleasant Borough, N.J., passed away at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019. Robert was born Aug. 31, 1960 in Straubing, Germany when he was adopted by his parents, Kathryn and Robert Petrie. Robert was outgoing, generous and fun-loving with his many friends and family and was given the nickname Rodney at a very young age. Robert grew up in Verona, N.J., and Essex Fells, N.J., and spent his childhood summers in Bay Head, N.J., until making Bay Head his permanent home in 1984. For the past 30 years of Robert's life, he served as a dedicated electrician in Bay Head, Point Pleasant, and Mantoloking, N.J. Robert's passion was cheering for the New Orleans Saints at Frankie's Bar and Grill, a second home on the weekends, and most recently was wrapped up in his family and friends' love at his niece Kate's wedding. He is survived by his brother, Jay, and his wife, Caroline; his sister, Mary, and his niece and nephew, Katherine and John. While Robert will be greatly missed, he's in a good place with Mom and Dad and no doubt will always be in our heads and hearts. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
