Richard C. Kruger - Toms River

Richard Charles Kruger, 80, of Brick, passed away Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 in Brick. He was surrounded by friends who loved him like family. Richard was born in Brooklyn, NY to Richard and Elsie Kruger. He moved to New Jersey at a young age. Richard was employed by Buttonwood Hospital in Pemberton before retiring in 1991. After retirement, he relocated to Stroudsburg, PA where he remained until moving to the Jersey Shore in 1997.Richard enjoyed the opportunity to travel throughout the country. One of his favorites was the Grand Canyon. He was an avid fan of the WWF, loved to dance and attending country music concerts. Richard loved animals, especially his own dogs. He greatly enjoyed the company of the many friends he made including those at his senior lunch at the VFW. Richard was a member of the Jersey Shore Calvary Church in Pt. Pleasant Beach.Richard is predeceased by his parents and brother, Edward and sister-in-law, Maryanne Kruger. He is survived by his longtime friend and caregiver, Lori Bowers and her son, Jayce. Survived also by many loving friends that loved him like family.A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at the Jersey Shore Calvary Church, 708 McLean Ave., Pt.
