Richard Merle Sweetman - Middletown/Metuchen

Richard "Dick" Merle Sweetman AGE: 72 • Middletown Richard "Dick" Merle Sweetman, 72, of Middletown, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank, from complications of heart disease. Richard was born in Paterson on May 10, 1940. He was raised in Metuchen and attended Metuchen High School. He worked in manufacturing at General Cable Corporation in New Brunswick for over 30 years. Richard enjoyed collecting antique firearms, hunting, watching Randolph Scott westerns on TV, and spending time with his grandchildren. Richard is predeceased by his parents, Arthur E. Sweetman and Florence Berglin Sweetman; his sister, Linda Sweetman Mazarello; his brother, Arthur E. Sweetman; and his infant sons, Richard Mark and Alan Merle. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Meta White Sweetman. They were married in Woodbridge, in 1959. Richard is lovingly remembered by his son, Brian and Audrey; daughter, Virginia Grohn, and daughter, Camille Curci and her husband Robert J. Curci of Port Monmouth, as well as 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 5 nephews. A private Celebration of Life was held in Rumson, on Saturday, April 28, 2013. Dad, God Bless!
