Richard B Colledge

Family, friends and neighbors mourn the loss of Richard “Richie” B. Colledge, of Ocean Grove. Richie passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2017. Richie was born in Paterson. November 22, 1940. A long-time Jersey Shore resident, Richie was a familiar presence on the front porch of his Clark Avenue home, and was affectionately known as the “unofficial mayor” of the block. He also enjoyed extended retreats at his late son Richard’s “camp” in North Pitcher, New York and the yearly road trips with his wife Barbara Richie was a well-known tattoo artist and former owner of “Tattooing by Mr. Richard” in Harrison. He later relocated and operated “Bristol Tattoo Studio” in PA until his retirement in 2010. A hard worker his entire life. A long haul trucker, highway superintendent with Stavola Asphalt Company, Bartell Tree expert, he traveled many road and had many stories. Richie will be loved and missed by his wife of 33 years, Barbara Ann Colledge. He is survived by daughters Diane Pouliot, Denise Turner, Sharon Casey and Mary Pat Fisher; sons Tom Colledge and William (Billy) Colledge and is preceded in death by his son Richard. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is remembered by his loving son-in-law Dave Fisher, the entire Sweeney family and an extended family of friends. The family is planning a Life Celebration in his honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made as a gift in his name to Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, NJ.
