Renne C. Karu

Renee C. Karu of Wall Township, passed away on March 4, 2014, at home surrounded by family, friends and the thoughts and love of everyone she encountered. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Kalle, and her adoring children Sarah, Alex, Joshua and his wife Debbie, as well as her brother Martin Sommer and his family. Renee was predeceased by her loving father, Aaron Sommer and beloved Golden Retriever, Bailey Garcia. Renee was born in Brooklyn, NY before relocating with her family to South Bound Brook, NJ. She enrolled in Monmouth College resulting in a celestial chance meeting with the love of her life, Kalle Karu. Renee was a talented lab researcher before establishing a successful home childcare business allowing her an opportunity to work while raising her children. Renee was a fan of the NJ Devils, fitness, music and could always be found dancing. She was incredibly supportive, loyal and loving to all her friends and family. Her laughter and love touched all. A celebration of Renees life will be held at her home on Sunday, March 23 from Noon to 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in her name to The Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and Meridian Hospice. Thank you to all the friends and family who were by her side during the past few difficult years and celebrated her life. Renees memory will live on through the life, love, and laughter of everyone who was blessed enough to have had her bring light into their lives.
