Ponty McLeod, 47, passed away on September 30, 2017. He worked for the Union of Operating Engineers, Local 825. He was born in South Africa and came to the United States in 1992 at the age of 21. He served in the Army in South Africa for two years before coming to the States where he met and married the love of his life, Patty (Sweetims). Ponty had a tremendous love for God, life, people, children and animals. He was a father figure, a mentor to many, and had a heart that couldn't stop giving.
Surviving are his loving wife, Patricia, his stepchildren: James, Jennah, Julie, and grandson, Evan, his mother-in-law, Lucy, sisters-in-law, Beth and husband, Tony, Lisa and husband, Richard, and Donna, numerous nieces and nephews and his buddy, Stephen (his great-nephew), his mother, Alida, two sisters, Hanli and Maureen, and all his relatives who live in South Africa.
A Memorial Service will be held at Life Chapel, 3118 Bridge Avenue, Point Pleasant, on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.
