Paula Patricia Wellbrock, 62, of Leonardo, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Paula Patricia Wellbrock was born on May 6th, 1963 in Trinidad and Tobago to Armando and Joan Gomes. Paula was a stay at home mom and loved spending time with family and friends. She was passionate about bird watching, her garden, and vacationing. She especially loved spending time on Sandy Hook, lounging with her daughter’s dog Sadie, and watching Jeopardy every night with her family. Paula was known for [her sense of humor, caring nature, and her ability to make you feel like you’ve known her for years.
Paula was a devoted wife to Joseph Wellbrock for 38 years, and a loving mom and nanny to her children Grace Wehrle, Matthew Wellbrock, Scott Wellbrock and her grandchildren Savannah and Mackenzie, with another granddaughter on the way. She is also survived by her sister Priscilla Gomes and brother Joel Gomes, her mother Joan Gomes, her sister and brother in law Ellen and Tony Arico, her niece Dominique and nephews Christopher, Anthony, and Nicholas, as well as her Son in law Bruce Wehrle and daughter in law Nicole Moran, and was preceded in death by her father Armando Gomes, her brother Randy Gomes and her mother and father in law Mary and Vincent Lynch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 18th at 10am at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Atlantic Highlands.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Riverview Medical Center infusion and oncology teams for their compassionate care.
Paula will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all of her family and friends.
