Patricia A. Notholt, 85, died peacefully on Saturday, June 15, 2019 after a brief illness. She was a resident of North Bergen for more than 45 years. Pat was born and raised in Jersey City and was a 1952 graduate of Dickinson High School.
Pat was a dispatcher for Lionetti Fuel Co. for 25 years and then later was an office manager. She had a special way with children and after retiring, became a nanny and cared for children in the Harmon Cove area for many years. She was beloved by both the kids and their parents and would often get invited to the high school and college graduations of the children she once cared for.
Happy times spent at her familys summer bungalow in Ocean Gate were some of Pats fondest memories. She looked forward to swimming and crabbing in Barnegat Bay. In retirement, Pat also enjoyed spending summers at the pool with her friends and would count down the days until the pool opened. She had the "gift of gab" and was always up for a good conversation. Her family has many favorite memories of her as well: "Precious" the not-so-nice cat, the VO5 Hot Oil Treatment, years of Thanksgiving dinners especially the Monopoly game played the year the oven broke, fun at the campground floating in tubes, playing pinball and buying bomb pops at the camp store, the dogs running through the gazebo screens, and so many more.
Rarely seen without her earrings, watch and bracelets, Pat was known for always having her nails done, and for making the best macaroni salad. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary and would always call or send a card. Her smile, laugh and kind thoughtfulness will always be remembered.
Pat was predeceased by her grandmother Mary Kelly, her parents Charles and Emma Fusaris, and her sister and brother-in-law Caroline and Francis "Mick" Wolgast. She is survived by her son Greg Notholt and his wife Deborah, Bradley Beach; her daughter Patricia Notholt, Spring Lake Heights; and her granddaughter Nina Notholt and great-grandson Joe Vargas, both of Orlando, Florida. "Aunt Pat" was also loved and will be very missed by nieces Kathryn Plosica and her husband Michael of Monmouth Beach, NJ; Eileen Hetrick and her husband Joseph of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; nephew Thomas Wolgast and his wife Jennifer of Pine Beach, NJ; as well as great-nieces Morgan and Riley Plosica, Meredith and Kate Hetrick and great-nephews Brett Hetrick and Jack Wolgast.
Services were private, as per Pats wishes.
