Patricia Lyons

Patricia (McCauley) Lyons passed away on February 28, 2023, at the age of 93.

She was born on December 20, 1929, to the late Winifred (Cole) McCauley. She grew up in Jersey City, NJ, and moved to Point Pleasant Beach in 1951 with her husband, Edward Lyons. Pat’s love of the ocean drew her to the Jersey Shore where she would raise her five children and make lifelong friends whom she played cards with, walked the boardwalk, or just spent time with.

She is predeceased by her husband, Edward James Lyons, her eldest daughter, Kim (Lyons) Gardner, and her son-in-law, William Gardner. Surviving are her 4 children, Glenn Lyons and his wife, Barbara, of Old Bridge, NJ; Tara Lyons-Roig and her husband, Jack, of Point Pleasant, NJ; Jeanmarie Payne and her husband, Ken, of Gig Harbor, WA; and Tricia Lyons and her husband Jim Gyurkovic of Arlington, TX. She was the grandmother to 10 grandchildren, Joshua Yenchik, Meg Reed, and Graeme Gardner; Derek Cardinale, Shelby Lyons, Tanner Lyons, Molly O’Neil, Daisy Payne, Kailee Davies, and Jacob Davies, and a great-granddaughter, Hazel.

Pat worked for 30 years at the G. Harold Antrim Elementary School as in-class support for many students. She treasured her time with these students and felt blessed by her time at Antrim and the friends she made during those years. She was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary-Fire Company #2.

Cremation will be private and a memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 5th at 11:30am at St. Peter’s Church in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Gregory’s Pantry, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ.
