Patricia Gail Guthrie

Patricia Gail (Dowd) Guthrie, 86, of Manasquan, passed away peacefully in her sleep, February 3, 2026. Born April 21, 1939, in Orange, New Jersey, to the late John “Jack” Dowd and Evelyn (Moffatt) Dowd, she later lived in Newark and then Old Bridge, where she began raising her family, settling in Manasquan where her children grew up and where she resided for the remainder of her life.

Patty Gail was a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design. She worked for many years as an interior designer at King’s World of Furniture in Wall, NJ, before launching her own business, Patty Gail Interior Designs, where she was highly regarded and deeply devoted to her clients.

Patricia loved Jesus and was a woman of strong faith, which she fiercely held onto during her final years. She was known for the twinkle in her eyes when she laughed, which is typical of a Dowd, as well as her “unforgettable” smile and laugh, qualities she most surely inherited from her beloved “Mother.”

She was predeceased by her beloved daughter in law Patty O'Connor.

Surviving are her brothers, Lance Dowd (Joni) and Casey Dowd (Nancy); her sons, Michael O’Connor, Brick, Kevin O'Connor, Point Pleasant, Bryan O’Connor (Lisa), Wall and Sean O’Connor (Brandi) Bricktown. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandsons along with extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Patty Gail's life will be held in the spring.
