Nat Lipetz, 92, of Ocean Township, died December 31, 2014 at home from complications of
Parkinson's.
Nat was born in New York City on September 22, 1922 and lived in Monmouth County since 1936.
He served in the Army during World War II as a Master Sargeant providing secure communications for Roosevelt, Churchill, and Truman.
He received a B.S. and M.S.in Electrical Engineering, both with Honors, from New York University.
Nat worked for 36 years as a Division Director in the Electronic Technology and Devices Lab at Fort Monmouth, NJ, where he was involved with the research and development of microwave techniques. He also served as the Department of Defense U.S. technical representative to NATO.
Nat was a member of the IEEE Editorial Board for Microwave Theory and Techniques. He holds 5 patents in the microwave field. Following his retirement, he did consulting work for engineering companies until 1992. Nat served as Vice President and Board member of Temple Beth Miriam, and served as President of the Men's Club.
Nat was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 59 years,Barbara "Bobby", daughter Beth Statman and her husband Brian of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Donna D'Anna and her husband Jerry of Titusville, NJ, and grandchildren Adam D'Anna of PA, and Janet D'Anna of NJ.
Funeral Services are private. Shiva will be held at 58 Redwood Drive, Ocean, NJ 07712 on Monday and Tuesday evenings, January 5th and 6th, from 7 pm - 9 pm.
