Nancy Jenney, age 97 passed away peacefully on Saturday September 24th, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Brick, New Jersey after a short illness. Nancy was a long time resident of Athens Pennsylvania before moving to New Jersey in 2012. She was born to George and Marion (Bothwell) Foss. She was one of seven daughters. Nancy attended Alba elementary school and later SRU high school. Nancy married Robert Jenney of Smithfield in 1941 and together they raised 3 children. She worked as a legal assistant as a young woman and later in manufacturing at the Blue Swan Mills and Westinghouse. Nancy’s many passions were camping, gardening, and cooking. But of course her greatest loves were her family, friends, and the church. She was an active member of the Sayre Christian church and donated her time until her early nineties. Nancy is survived by two children, Gary Jenney of Sayre, Pa and Cheryl (Tim) Northrup of Brick, New Jersey, grandchildren Steven Jenney of Athens, Robert (Angie) Jenney of Athens, Michelle (Tobin) Zerfas of Overland Park, Kansas, Kaleena (Dave) Reynolds, Zachary, Samantha, Alec, and Connor Northrup, all of Brick New Jersey; great-grandchildren Joshua, Cole, Taylor, Callin, Sarah, Christopher, Peyton, Jace, and Sawyer. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by Robert, her loving husband of 50 years, her eldest son Bob and her six sisters Winifred, Lorena, Helen, Margaret, Edith, and Florence. The funeral services will be held at the Sayre Christian Church on Friday September 30th at 1:30 with Rev. James Donohoo and Rev. Kevin Aremsman officiating. Interment will be in Tioga point cemetery in Athens
