Mildred “Millie” Poole returned home August 6, 2016. Mildred was born September 22, 1933 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Known as “Cakey” to her family, Mildred left Elizabeth City and moved to Red Bank, NJ in 1959 where she was a long time resident.
Always greeting people with her famous “woohoo” salutation as she walked through the neighborhood. Mildred was a charismatic and loving woman, well known and loved throughout the West Side of Red Bank. She will be remembered and missed by many.
Mildred is predeceased by her parents, James Poole, Alphine Overton Poole, and stepmother Alverta Twine Poole. Her brothers; Otis Poole, Ralph Poole, John Poole, and Jeff Overton. She is survived by her children; Lee Poole, Dunellen, NJ and Jennie Poole, Neptune, NJ. Her grandchildren; Jazmyn Poole, Chistiian Credle, Briana Credle, Jazmyr Poole, and Gregory Credle respectively. Her sisters, Jennie Poole, Atlanta, GA, Madeline Clark, Queens, NY, Erma Dance and Martha Jane Brown of Elizabeth City, NC, her sisters in law Lessie Purvis and Catherine Poole of Elizabeth City, NC along with a host of loving nieces, nephew, and friends.
