Michael V. Mack

Michael V. Mack, of Spring Lake Heights, passed away surrounded by his family, on August 28th, 2025 at the age of 68 after a two year battle with ALS. Mike grew up in Freehold Borough where he attended high school, and went on to graduate with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts Education from Trenton State College. Mike went on to have a career as a custom woodworker.

His passion for his work has always been an example of what it looks like to be devoted to your craft. Watching him work was a quiet lesson in pursuing your interests and consistency. You could learn so much just by watching how he lived.

He was always in motion and found joy in gardening and making home improvements. He appreciated the day to day rhythms of life and enjoyed the outdoors, whether that meant a camping trip, kayaking, a long walk, or a local bike ride.

Michael was patient and kind. Whether he was leading Scouts or coaching little league softball, he was reminding everyone to have fun and giving practical advice. He always seemed to understand what was important.

Mike is survived and missed by Diane, his loving wife of 40 years; his son Kevin, daughter in-law Meagan, and his daughter Kelcie, son in-law Tim. He is also survived by his mother Norma Jean Mack; brothers Joel, and his wife Shirley; James, and his wife Kathie; Robert, and his wife Karrie. Sisters Mary McCall, and her husband John; Anne Mack, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Harvey L. Mack and his brother Harvey J. Mack.

Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation. Per his wishes, the family will be organizing a celebration of his life to be announced to family and friends in the near future.
