Michael C. Giorgio, 74, died November 7, 2014 from pancreatic cancer. Our beloved friend, father, husband, leader and life-coach, Michael Giorgio was born on October 21, 1940.
The oldest of 7 children, his meager beginnings forced him to grow up quickly. The lessons he learned at an early age about people, accountability, responsibility and life shaped him into the role model he would become for his family, his peers, and friends. In 1964 he married his childhood sweetheart Geri. This year they celebrated 50 years of marriage and friendship. Their relationship was a model to their three children, Michael, Robert, and Stephanie, and at family gatherings he loved to clown around with his four grandchildren, Ryan, Lucy, Tristan, and Adele.
Early on he realized the importance of a good education and provided for his own eventually earning his MBA from Farleigh Dickinson University. Mike spent his career in human resources, a career well-suited to his interest in others. He spent most of his career as Principal in Human Resources at Morgan Stanley, retiring from there in 1994. He continued consulting for nearly a decade as former colleagues continued to seek his advice and counsel. Mike lived his life with curiosity. He loved sports, especially soccer and horse racing, and he enjoyed reading, especially about history and politics. Uncanny in his ability to connect with people; his friends were lawyers, doctors, coffee shop owners, athletes, laborers, leaders and teachers alike.
Michael is survived by his wife Geri, a son Michael, a son Robert, his wife Jessica and two children, Ryan and Tristan, and a daughter Stephanie, her husband Charlie and two children Lucy and Adele.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday November 15th at 10:30am at Saint Catharine's Church, Essex Avenue, Spring Lake, New Jersey.
