Michael Davis

March 27, 1954 — April 13, 2024

Michael Davis 70 of Toms River passed away Saturday April 13,2024. Michael was born in Weehawken, NJ on March 27, 1954 to Joseph and Edna Davis.

Michael was a roofer by trade, something he learned at a very young age. He continued to do this but also continued to learn new things. He eventually learned to be a clammer where he was the happiest, digging for his favorite seafood to eat.

Michael was an avid fisherman, he loved being near the water. He cherished spending time with family crabbing in the summer, walking through the streams with his son and grandson at the start of trout season. He always made sure to include everyone in his fishing excursions, during any rain storms he would have Nicole and her friends out looking for worms for him. He always made it fun. He had a unique ability to predict the weather by observing the clouds and the smell of the air. He truly enjoyed everything about being outdoors.

Michael was very protective of his children but also taught them to stand up for themselves and what was right. Protecting them at all costs, even hitting a squirrel with a glass mug after the squirrel had bit Nicole at the young age of 3 and bringing it to the hospital so she didn't need to have rabi shots and helping his son while being bullied at young at age, running outside while being in his green short shorts with flip flops and socks (his usual) showing him how to stand up for himself.

Michael is survived by his children, Michael Davis Jr. (Tracey), Nicole Davis, and his grandson Gavin Davis, Jo-Ann his ex wife (which was not by his choice he insisted they were still married). He is also survived by Cherri Davis (sister), Ruthann Zambrano (Sister), and Richard Davis (brother) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Michael is preceded by Edna Davis( Mother) Joseph Davis (Father) Joseph ”JoJo” Davis (Brother) Jack Davis (Brother) Jacqueline DeChristofaro (Sister) and Laura Harvey (Sister)

Michaels Love for the outdoors and passion for fishing will always be remembered by all those that loved him.

Celebration of life date to follow.
