It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Maurice Francis Gaynor, affectionately known as "Frank," on June 24, 2026, at his home in Manasquan, New Jersey, at the age of 87.
Frank was born on July 10, 1938, in Causeway, County Kerry, Ireland, a place he held close to his heart throughout his life. Proud of his Irish heritage, he often shared stories of his hometown and cherished his roots in Kerry.
In 1965, Frank and his beloved wife, Jacqueline, immigrated to the United States to build a life together. Married for 63 wonderful years, they were true partners in every sense of the word. Together they owned and operated a successful dry-cleaning business in Summit, New Jersey, where they worked side by side while raising their three children.
Following retirement, Frank and Jackie enjoyed traveling together and divided their time between The Villages, Florida, and Manasquan, New Jersey. Frank especially loved spending time on the golf course with family and friends, and he treasured the many friendships he made throughout his life. He was known for his kindness, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor, always bringing a smile to those around him.
Above all, Frank was devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Jacqueline Gaynor; his children, Maurice Gaynor (Nancy) Paul Gaynor (Marie) and Elizabeth Martin (Sam) nine cherished grandchildren; six beloved great-grandchildren, and four siblings, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Catherine Gaynor and his sister Christina.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30am on Thursday, July 23rd at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 215 Crescent Parkway, Sea Girt, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Manasquan EMS in Frank's memory.
Frank will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his strong work ethic, his deep pride in his Irish heritage, and his generous heart. His kindness, laughter, and love will remain with all who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on through his family and the countless lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis."By God's side may his faithful soul rest."
