Maureen Elizabeth Shannon

Maureen Elizabeth Shannon (nee Kane) of Belmar, NJ passed away peacefully March 10th, 2022. Maureen, or Mo, as some lovingly called her, was 73 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph, her mother, Hazel, and her siblings Loretta, and Joseph. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Shannon and his wife Jeny of Corvallis, Montana; her two brothers David Kane of Wayne, and Leo Kane of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. She was born in Paterson, NJ where she graduated from St. Joseph High School. She lived in West Milford for 20 years, then in Belmar for 28 years. She worked for Hoffman LaRoche in Nutley, The Applicator Company in Riverdale, then American Cyanamid in Wayne. After that she owned the Shannon Inn in Belmar for 12 years before retiring. She loved the Jersey shore, spending time with her friends, family, and her dog Molly. At Maureen’s request, there will be no funeral service. The family will notify loved ones when a celebration of life is scheduled.
