Maryelizabeth O'Malley

MaryElizabeth (Marybeth) O’Malley, 75, of Belmar, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 20, 2024 at Jersey Shore Hospital Wall NJ.

MaryBeth was born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey and raised in Belmar New Jersey where she resided most of her life.

She attended Saint Rose schools through high school graduation. She continued her education, as the first and only in her family, and graduated from Marywood University. MaryBeth returned to Saint Rose and gave all she learned back to her students in the grammar school for 40 years.

MaryBeth’s warmth, wit and humor were ever present when she was in any room. She enjoyed good conversation of all types, and could find the best of every situation and made all time spent with her very special. She was extremely generous, patient kind and selfless to all in need at any given time.

The focus and joy of her life was her treasured family and friends which she loved above all else. She dedicated the last 18 years proudly known as “Nana” doting on her grandkids.

MaryBeth is survived by her loving son, Peter McCaffery and his wife Erin, their children Peter, Emily and Shannon of Bernardsville, New Jersey; siblings Loretta McNeel, Catherine Richmond, Dominick Commesso and wife Paulette; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear lifelong friends.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Rose Church, 603 Seventh Ave, Belmar NJ on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 10 am.

Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
