On Saturday, July 9, 2022, MaryAnn Egloff passed away at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. MaryAnn was born to Charles and Mary Morton on July 9, 1946. She died on her 76th birthday.
MaryAnn was born and raised in Lakewood. Thereafter a lifelong resident of the Jersey Shore, where she developed a life-long love of sunbathing and seafood. Both her personal life and her professional career reflected her devoutly Christian way of life – steeped in a faith evident to all who knew her. She attended both St. Francis Nursing School in Jersey City and Ocean County Community College. After earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing, throughout her career she wore many different hats. MaryAnn was a Labor and Delivery nurse for over 20 years where she delivered many of her nieces, nephews and grandchildren, an oncology nurse, and then provided end of life care to those in hospice and nursing homes. After retiring, she enjoyed hobbies such as journaling and anything related to family.
She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mary Morton, brothers Chuck and Tommy Morton, and grandchild Raymond Egloff, IV.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Raymond (Popcorn) Egloff, II; sister Theresa DeGroot and her husband Tom; sister Kathy Fitzgerald and her husband Ed; Marlene Morton, her sister-in-law; daughter Michelle Egloff-Grossman and her husband Karl; son Raymond Egloff, III; Karen Davenport; her grandchildren - Tommy Strohschein, Ian Egloff and his girlfriend Courtney McCann; Gwen Egloff-Du and her husband Kha-The; Adam Egloff and his fiancee Alycia Byrne-Narvaez; Keeley Grossman and her boyfriend Dominic Pinto; Brayden Grossman, Jayden Egloff, Jacey Davenport, Jordan Davenport, and great-granddaughters Mabel Louella Du and Alice MaryAnn Egloff, and numerous loving family members.
If a person’s life could be captioned, MaryAnn’s would say, “Those who give Love, gather Love.” Her home was always open, where most of her time was spent happily cooking and baking to feed family, friends, friends of friends, friends of family, family of friends - literally anyone and everyone. Her devotion to the Bible and prayer were palpable; many will remember the power of her prayers and the strength that she and other loved ones drew from them. MaryAnn’s inner beauty shone through to the surface, and she always looked incredibly fabulous, no matter what. She was a stunning woman, an amazing mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend to all. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, rivaled only by her affinity for anything cheetah print.
Family and friends are invited to join a Celebration of Life on 7/15 from 1-4PM at St. Stephens Green in Spring Lake Heights, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Kidney Fund or Dialysis Patient Citizens.
