Mary Ellen Hornberger

Mary Ellen Hornberger, 67, of Union Beach, NJ passed away on December 9, 2023 with her husband at her side.

Mary Ellen was born on November 20, 1956 in Irvington, NJ. She worked at Bayshore Hospital for 20 years as an emergency room technician and volunteered as an EMT in Union Beach for many years. She enjoyed going up to Yasgur’s Farm yearly to celebrate Woodstock Reunions. She absolutely loved her cats, Button, Gary, Skye, and especially Spanky.

Mary Ellen is survived by her husband Ken Hornberger, her daughter Melanie Vitale (husband Jon Vitale), her daughter Melissa Hornberger (fiancee Jon McGuire) her grandson, Julian Vitale, her brother Ted Plusch (wife DaveAnn), her brother-in-law Ralph Hornberger, sister-in-law Mary Hornberger and many cousins, nieces,nephews, and friends.

She is predeceased by her son Kenny Hornberger, her parents, Mary Ann Plusch and Theodore Plusch, her brother Bob Plusch, her nephew Ralph Hornberger, her niece Kathy Krug, her brother-in-law, Al Hornberger, her mother-in-law, Jennie Hornberger and her father-in-law, Albert Hornberger.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 17th 2023 at the Keyport Knights of Columbus from 1PM - 4PM. The address is 58 NJ-35, Keyport, NJ 07735
