Martin Aaron Smith, 87, of Sea Girt, NJ, loving father, uncle and friend entered into eternal rest on June 11, 2017 after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 31, 1929, Martin attended Erasmus Hall H.S., CCNY and Baruch College, achieving honors at all levels. Shortly after graduating college he attended the US Navy Officer Candidate School achieving the rank of Lieutenant JG and was assigned to the Comptroller of the Navy Pentagon Office in connection with the Accounting Systems at Navy shipyards requiring extensive travel including post war Pearl Harbor. He had a successful CPA career in Manhattan at Lybrand, Ross Bros, & Montgomery which continued at Goldman Sachs. He became a financial consultant later in his career and retired as Second Vice President from Smith Barney, Short Hills Office.
He is survived by his wife Terry of 55 years, sons, David of Summit, NJ, Peter and daughter in law Cindy of York, SC, and daughter Rachel of California. Beloved grandchildren Andrew, Emily and Madeline, nieces Lynn, Patti and their families.
