Marion Reynolds, age 86, passed away peacefully on March, 27, 2025 at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Born on November 17, 1938, in Headford, County Galway, Ireland, she was the oldest daughter of Michael and Nora Reynolds. She was a longtime resident of Hillsdale, NJ and in her later years she enjoyed her time at Asbury Tower in Asbury Park, NJ. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She is survived by her loving children, her daughter Patricia Cuffe of Ridgewood, NJ and her son Michael Cuffe (Kim) of Hillsdale, NJ; her five wonderful grandchildren, Rory Feeney, Maura Feeney, Amanda Cuffe, Sean Cuffe and Kevin Cuffe; her devoted sisters Bernadette Johnson, Frances Jennings, and Blon Turley; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Patrick Cuffe, her son Jimmy Cuffe, her parents, Nora and Michael Reynolds, and her sister Catherine Hogan.
Marion graduated from Presentation College in Headford, Galway and was also studying in Dublin to be a nurse, before immigrating to the United States in 1956. She lived in Astoria, Queens. During her long career she worked at Pullman Kellogg Engineering Firm, Chase Mortgage Company, and the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ.
For over 50 years, Marion dedicated herself as the National Treasurer of Irish Northern Aid, playing a pivotal role in its mission. She was also a key contributor to the success of “The Irish People” newspaper, which served as a powerful voice for Irish republicanism in the United States. Above all, her lifelong wish was for a united Ireland.
Marion was a strong and independent woman, always helping her family, friends and everyone. She had a deep love of Ireland and enjoyed her visits there. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She cherished her grandchildren. She loved music, especially Bob Dylan, the Beatles, and Irish music. She loved being with her Granddog, Bailey. She always would lend a helping hand to those in need. Marion will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Forever in our hearts. May she rest in peace.
