Marilyn Novak

April 4, 1934 — September 6, 2018

Toms River - Marilyn Novak formerly of East Brunswick, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on September 6, 2018 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Born in Dunmore PA to Lawrence P. McGinley Sr. and Mary Keenahan, she graduated from St. Paul's High School class of 1952. She retired from Rutgers University in 1996. Marilyn volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the East Brunswick Women's Club. She was a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in North Brunswick. She was a tremendous role model, genuinely nice person, and incredibly humble. She adored her family, was one of a kind in the nicest possible way, and always thought of others before herself. She made everyone feel welcomed and loved having friends of all ages stop by. She was predeceased by her husband Paul A. Novak and brother Lawrence Jr. (Buddy). She is survived by three sons: John of Coal Creek Canyon, CO; Paul and wife Tracy (Carpenter) of Broomfield, CO, and Larry and wife Michele (Romeo) of Jackson; grandchildren Zachary and Lucas of Jackson and Kendall and Devyn of CO; brother John and wife Lenore (Roman) of Dunmore, sister-in-law Joan (Pavuk) Novak of Woodbridge, VA; grandpups Mookie, Bo, and Lou; numerous nieces, nephews, and many, many wonderful friends. She hoped people would remember her fondly with good memories. In lieu of a wake and funeral, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation Service, 36 Broad Street, Manasquan, NJ.
