Marilyn Borovi

Marilyn Borovi, 90, passed away peacefully at her home at Brandywine Reflections in Colts Neck, New Jersey, on August 1, 2026, surrounded by friends and the warmth and memories of a life well lived.

Born and raised in Budapest, Hungary, Marilyn possessed a vibrant spirit and an eye for beauty from a young age. In the 1950s, she made the courageous journey across the Atlantic to build a new life in the United States. Over the years, she called many places home—including Brooklyn, NY, Pompton Lakes, NJ, Warminster, PA, and ultimately Colts Neck, NJ—leaving a lasting impression of grace and warmth in every community she touched.

Marilyn enjoyed a distinguished and accomplished career as a graphic artist in New York City, where her creativity, precision, and talent flourished. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she was a passionate collector with a deep appreciation for artistry. She took immense joy in collecting fine Herend porcelain and Hummel figurines. Above all, she had a special place in her heart for Dachshunds—her absolute favorite dog—and built a marvelous collection of dachshund statues over her lifetime that brought her endless delight.

Marilyn was reunited in peace with her beloved husband of many years, Charles Borovi, who preceded her in death in 1999. In later years, she was blessed with the love and companionship of her partner, Antonio De Oliveira, who preceded her in death in 2018.

She leaves behind a loving family to honor her memory: her niece, Donna Beik; her nephew, John Beik; and her sister-in-law, Eileen Beik. Marilyn is also survived by a circle of wonderful, devoted friends who cared for, cherished, and brought immense joy to her in the final years of her life.

Marilyn’s artistic flair, gentle heart, and enduring strength will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
