Marietta C. Evans -Eriksen - Brick Twp.

Marietta Catherine Mandracchia-Evans AGE: 77 • Brick Marietta Catherine Mandracchia-Evans was born on February 25, 1936 in Corona, NY. She passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. She was married in 1958 to Mr. Lani Evans for 28 years with whom she had three children between 1961 and 1977. Marietta was a devoted Catholic and attended Catholic school in both Queens and New York City and graduated from St. Vincent Ferrer in 1953. For many years, she worked as a secretary for advertising account executives in 30 Rockefeller Plaza, NYC. During the 1960's and 1970's, she pursued stage and screen acting, during which she performed in several plays at local community theatres in Toms River and Spring Lake. She held several small roles on the big screen too, such as in "The God Father". Later in life, she found great joy working at St. Peter's Church in Point Pleasant Beach, where she worked until she retired. She was a painter and a writer, and she saw the beauty in all things, which she expressed beautifully through her artwork. Marietta is predeceased by her son, Paul Evans, and survived by her son, Joey Evans and his wife Tea and their two daughters, Ashley and Sophia. She is also survived by her youngest daughter, Josephine Evans, with whom she lived happily and spent many days enjoying local New Jersey Shore beaches and restaurants with. Also survived by her former husband and good friend. Marietta was a devoted mother, and put color and light into the world of so many people whose lives she touched through her unconditional loving-kindness and friendship. She will be dearly missed by all. A private Mass will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in her hometown Whitestone, NY followed by a luncheon. An additional Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at St. Dominic's Church located in Brick, (Rt. 88 and Old Squan Road).
