Madeline Digiovanni

Madeline DiGiovanni, age 96, passed away peacefully on the evening of June 14th, 2024, at her home in Asbury Park, New Jersey, surrounded by her family.

Madeline was a member of the greatest generation, born on June 9th, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York, and graduated from Bay Ridge High School. On October 9th, 1948, she began her loving marriage which lasted over 60 years with Rosario DiGiovanni.

Madeline was a loving wife and a devoted mother, as well as a valued friend. She was known for her kindness, beauty, and her passion for Yankees Baseball. She taught valuable lessons to her children on how to create a loving home. She enjoyed listening & singing along to Frank Sinatra, spending lots of time with her children and grandchildren, welcoming those who were friends of her children for dinner, and relaxing on the north deck of ABC in the summer where she would sit with friends until the dirty end. Madeline was an inspiration to us all. She was a devoted Catholic that said the Rosary daily and received communion weekly at her home.

Madeline is preceded by her husband, Rosario DiGiovanni, her parents Rose & Vincent, and her two brothers, Louis & Vincent II. Those left to cherish her memory are her 5 children, Sal DiGiovanni, Rodney DiGiovanni, Lori Rawson, Peter DiGiovanni, and Lisa DiGiovanni, as well as her 9 grandchildren, Theodore, Nathaniel, Jonathan, Perry, Roy, Madeline, Frances, Gabriella, and Alyson, along with her many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held on June 24th at 11:00 am at Mother Of Mercy Parish in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to The American Heart Association.

Lastly… the family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the pig who donated a heart valve to Madeline that graced us with the privilege to enjoy her an extra 15 years.

Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
