Loved by all, Louise Moenke, née Grosskurth, 98, of Brick, NJ, passed into Jesus’ loving arms on Monday, June 9, after a long fruitful life of devotion to family, friends, church people, and children.
Her faith in God’s goodness and her kind and generous spirit made her both remarkable and memorable by everyone blessed to meet her. In hospice she looked forward to reunited with the love of her life, Alfred, who she met at church.
Louise was trained as an army nurse during WWII, but gave up that professional calling when she married Alfred. She kept busy raising four children and running Sunday School programs at one of her favorite places, Holy Trinity Church of Manasquan. She was known for her super cheese cake recipe and her gift of faith and goodness. She was an active member of Welca and other church groups that gave back to the community. She and Dad volunteered at the Math Counts program to encourage high school STEM students to flourish. Everyone she met commented on her positive energy and her love for all.
She is survived by her son, Carl, and his wife, Christine; and her daughters’ families
Ruth, Susan and Tim McCusker, and Christine and Glenn Patterson. As a grandmother, she will be sorely missed by Tim and Joanna Lepore, Michael and Jenna Lepore, Ian and Rachel Patterson, Keith and Meggan McCusker, Michelle and Tony Pietanza, Cheryl and John Pettry, Becky and Sheri Coles, and Denise Caputi. Her greatest delight was to welcome and hold any new baby, and her great grans, as she liked to call them, gave her much joy. They are Emily Pietanza; Declan and Finn; Avery, Aiden and Owen; Max and Emma; Gavin, Thane, Cosette and Audrey; Ashton and Caiden; Gina, and Luca.
Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
