On December 6, 2024 Louis Gillow of Point Pleasant, NJ passed away peacefully at age 95 in Brick, NJ. Born in West Chester Pennsylvania, he graduated high school first in his class and went on to attend the US Naval Academy and proudly served in the Korean War. Afterwards he had a distinguished career as a civil engineer for Merck Pharmaceuticals, attended Temple Law School and became a respected patent attorney. He created and participated in groups that patented over 50 medical devices, including holding the patent for an angled toothbrush.
He was a world traveler, fluent in several languages. Louis’s life was marked by innovation, mentorship and unwavering dedication to his family and country. He is survived by his wife Sherri, and five children: Marianne, Martin, Paul, Stephanie and Lorri, and three grandchildren Gabrielle, Michael and Coral. He enjoyed being by the water and will be at peace in his final resting place by the sea.
Services will be held at St. Martha’s Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant, NJ at 11:00 a.m. on December 31st. Entombment to follow with military honors in the chapel of Atlantic View Cemetery and Mausoleum, 49 Forest Avenue, Manasquan NJ.
