Louis A. Coppolino

February 21, 1953 — May 3, 2023

Louis A Coppolino, age 70, passed away at home on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 after nearly a 10-year battle with cancer.

Lou was born on February 21, 1953 in New York City. He was a graduate of St. John’s Prep and Baruch College, majoring in History and Music, and was a self-employed driver for many years. Lou is survived by his wife of 48 years and high school sweetheart, Linda Saporita Coppolino, his siblings Joseph Coppolino and sister-in-law Joan, Robert Coppolino and sister-in-law Cathy, Phyllis Damsky, brother-in-law Thomas Saporita and sister-in-law Maryann, and nieces and nephews (Marla, Dean, Michael, Missy, James, Jeanine, Kristina, Thomas, Michael, Patrick, Robert) and great nieces (Emily, Josie, Sarah, Madelyn and Hannah), and great nephew (Robert). He is predeceased by his parents Louis J. and Nancy Coppolino and brother-in-law John Damsky.

Lou grew up in Brooklyn, NY where he married Linda in 1974. At ten years of marriage, they moved to Howell, NJ where they have lived since 1984. Lou and Linda loved to explore the United States in their RV, enjoying concerts in different states, taking in the scenic views and exploring music stores in every state they visited. Lou was an avid fan of the Three Stooges, loved classic western TV shows and comedies, and the many Alaskan Malamutes they had over the years.

His love of music and guitars blessed him with many friends and opportunities over the years. Lou thoroughly enjoyed playing in several rock bands throughout his life. In the past few years, he was proud to serve the Lord in his way, by playing guitar in contemporary Christian ministries. Lou had the opportunity to play guitar with the music ministries of the Co-Cathedral of Robert Bellarmine in Freehold, Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Lakewood, St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson, St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in Sea Girt, and St. Veronica Roman Catholic Church in Howell.

Services for Lou will be held at St. Veronica Roman Catholic Church, followed by a celebration of his life.
