Lorraine Kiernan, age 101, of Wall, NJ, passed away peacefully February 9th at Sunnyside Manor. 

She was born on May 28th, 1924 in Newark, NJ to John and Cora Morgan. After graduating Good Council High School, she briefly worked at Prudential prior to joining the U.S. Navy during WWII. After the war ended, she married and moved to Cranford, NJ to raise her family. She was an active communicant of St. Michael’s Church in Cranford. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, and traveling with her husband, as well as raising her three sons.

The beloved wife of the late William P. Kiernan, Lorraine was the devoted mother of William Jr. and his wife Patricia, Christopher and his late wife Carla, and Robert and his wife Rosemarie. She was the cherished grandmother to Elizabeth, Devin, JP and Shane, and great grandmother to Noah; and dearest sister to Thomas Morgan. She was predeceased by her brothers John and Jimmy Morgan. She is survived by her nephews and nieces and other extended family members.

The family would like to extend it appreciation to The Arbors and staff for the care and support that they have provided the past few years, and most recently to Sunnyside Manor for the compassionate care they provided these past few weeks.

Services will be private.
