Linda Lee Chelsen

Linda Lee Chelsen, 79, of Belmar, New Jersey passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2026. A loving sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, she will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and service to others.

Linda was born in Brooklyn, New York to Thor and Nancy Chelsen (nėe Bigger). Her family later relocated to Staten Island where she spent the rest of her formative years. The eldest of four, Linda was a doting older sister, who lovingly cared for her younger siblings, Paul, Dian, and Gary.

Linda graduated from Tottenville High School and went on to study social work at Luther College of the Bible and Liberal Arts (formerly in Teaneck, NJ). She later earned a Master of Social Work degree from Adelphi University in Long Island, NY. She spent the majority of her long career serving the community at Norwegian Lutheran Christian Home in Brooklyn, NY.

Throughout her life, Linda was drawn to the ocean, taking residence in coveted beach towns in both New York and New Jersey in her later years. Linda loved the finer things in life, which she fondly referred to as “good stuff.” Her interests ranged from Norwegian folk art and traditions to mystery thrillers, to taking road trips up and down the East Coast with her family.

Linda’s memory will live on in the hearts of her dear friends, siblings, cousins, nephews, nieces, and grandnephews and grandnieces. Takk for alt du var for oss.
